Fiat Food: How Inflation Destroys Our Health - WiM Weekly
A weekly rundown of new WiM podcast releases and some food for thought
“In terms of lives cut short, it would be no exaggeration to say that 20th century nutrition science and government food policies are the biggest crime in history, putting genocides and man-made famines to shame.”—Saifedean Ammous
Fake food is one of the many consequences of fake money.
The Nixon Shock of 1971 inserted a major player into the nutrition and health science conversation: the Federal Government. A nation’s populous will begrudgingly accept government corruption and endless wars (see America today), however, rising food prices have historically gone hand in hand with civil unrest and revolution. In 2022 alone, the world saw more than 12,500 riots related to rising food and energy prices (source), and governments are hyper-aware of this connection.
FOIA requests show that Nixon and his constituents knew that food prices would inevitably rise upon leaving the gold standard. This marked the beginning of a multi-decade gaslighting campaign to change the trajectory of the food supply and hide the consequences of decoupling from a sound monetary standard.
In late 1971, Nixon appointed Earl Butts as the US Secretary of Agriculture. Butts immediately issued billions of dollars in subsidies to the corn, soy, and sugar industries with the goal of consolidating farmland and lowering food production costs as money printing drove up the prices of goods. By transitioning the standard American diet away from “real” foods such as red meat, to “printable” synthetic sludge like seed oils, the government was able to temporarily blind the public to the inescapable consequences of increasing the money supply.
Implementing a hard money standard via Bitcoin removes the incentive for the government to tamper with our food supply to hide the theft of inflation, because it removes inflation from the equation entirely.
“What if the food you ate made it impossible to think clearly about the food you were eating—or for that matter, anything else? Could the western diet function as a tool of mass social control? Hell yes…”—Tucker Carlsen

WiM484 with Christos Palios
“We’re all taught to think of money in a certain way. When I started reading about hard money and the federal reserve…my mind was fighting that. I thought this has to be a conspiracy theory…Part of being an artist is thinking openly and being willing to put yourself in uncomfortable positions to analyze, assess, and reassess. Bitcoin…I think it’s doing this to a lot of people.”—Christos Palios

“The mix of [a warrior’s spirit to conquer and religious faith] is the DNA of what became the modern West. We as Western descendants, as Europeans, we’re the ones who have established this time and time again. The Greeks, the Romans, the Renaissance…There’s something that sparks in the blending of politics, religion, courage, and vitality. Whenever we see a confluence of [these ideals], something great emerges. I think we’re on the verge of seeing something like that again. It’s almost like for the last century or so, Western man has been sleeping…This Western man’s spirit, I think, is ready to awaken again.”—Alex Svetski

WiM486 Nico Moran from “Simply Bitcoin” interviews me
“[In] Bitcoin there’s a connection to mathematics, which is the language of the universe. Proof of work anchors Bitcoin to the universe. That is the polar opposite to what fiat money represents. [Fiat] brings all the flaws of humanity alongside it. It [begins] morally and ethically, and progressively over time starts to degrade.”—Nico Moran of “Simply Bitcoin”
